Introduction to 2FA: In today’s digital world, keeping your accounts secure is more important than ever. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) provides an extra layer of security for your account, ensuring that only you can access your information. Even if someone gets hold of your password, 2FA helps prevent unauthorized access by requiring a second step to verify your identity.

What is 2FA? Two-Factor Authentication is a security method that requires not only a password and username but also something that only you have—in this case your mobile device. Essentially, It adds an additional step to verify your identity, making it harder for unauthorized users to access your account.

Why should I enable 2FA?

  • Extra Security: Even if your password is compromised, 2FA ensures that an attacker can't get into your account without the second verification factor.

How Does SMS 2FA Work?

  1. Log in with your username and password.

  2. Receive a code sent to your mobile phone via SMS.

  3. Enter the code into the system to gain access to your account.

How to Set Up 2FA Using SMS

Follow these steps to secure your account with SMS-based Two-Factor Authentication:

  1. Log in to your account and go to your account settings. Log in here.

  2. Navigate to the "Security" section and find the Text Message (SMS) option. Click on the "off" button to set-up.

  1. Enter your mobile phone number: You’ll be asked to provide a phone number where SMS codes will be sent for verification.

note: you'll have the option to select the option: "Don't ask again for 30 days" so you don't need to enter your SMS code every time you log in.

You’re all set! Next time you log in, you will need both your password and the code from your authentication method, SMS in this case, to access your account.

Important Tips:

  • Make sure your phone number is always up to date.

  • If you plan changing phone numbers, update your 2FA settings immediately to avoid losing access to your account. You'll need to disable SMS 2FA with your old mobile number and then re-enable it with the new one.
